Mission of T.E.A.R.S. Philosophy
Founders Rev. Gordon and Diane Lewis established Mission of T.E.A.R.S. as they followed thier hearts, the word of God and their faith that led them to the needy parts of the world.
Inspired by their faith in Jesus Christ Gordon and Diane initiated, supported and continue to create and operate programs of high standards in humanitarian aid and adoption. Their love for children has guided them so far and their commitment keeps them going.
They Believe in
- Uniqueness of the child as a person
- Family as a unit for nurturing children
- Bringing together child and parents to build a healthy society
- Providing healthy and comfortable space for a child to grow as they believe “ It is easier to build boys and girls than to mend broken men and women”
- Empowerment of under-privileged, from among the orphans, widows, poor and oppressed people by Teaching, Educating, Advocating, Resourcing, Servicing (T.E.A.R.S.)
The Lewis’ are parents of a biological child, adoptive parents and now grand parents and have experienced the process themselves, which equips them to understand the core and key issues in adopting and post adoption parenting.
Mission of T.E.A.R.S. is licensed by Ministry of Community, Family and Children’s Services ( CFCS ) Govt. of Ontario to conduct inter-country adoption in several countries in the world. To implement this the CFCS ministry sets the guidelines, requires certain procedures and policies to be followed. Mission of T.E.A.R.S. functions with in this framework as our purpose is to explore the best options for families and children. We guide and service families through this entire process.
We also aim at helping families understand the risks, challenges and the process involved in adoption.
Our goal is to make adoption a bonding experience for the families and their new child. Most of the families and children in adoption already have faced losses before coming together in adoption. |
